SUMMARY OF ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE 

Jeff Buchalter, MD has had a strong interest in Academics throughout his entire career which led to his initial academic appointment as an Associate Clinical Professor with the University of Florida College of Medicines, Anesthesiology Department in 2004. As the Medical Director of Gulf Coast Pain Specialists, he was in charge of the on-site training for the University of Florida’s Pain Fellowship Clinical program. Following completion of their residency in Anesthesiology all Pain Fellows were assigned hands-on procedural and clinical training under the direct supervision of Dr. Buchalter.

Following the completion of this prestigious academic appointment, Dr. Buchalter was very honored to have been offered a teaching position with the Florida State University College of Medicines, Surgery Department as an Associate Clinical Professor in 2010. This involves teaching the Pain Management Clinical core requirement for the medical students, and on-site hands-on training during Pain Management elective rotations.

Dr. Buchalter most recently accepted an academic teaching appointment with the University of Central Florida College of Medicines, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency training program as an Associate Professor in 2020. During the Residency training program he will take part in the selection and training of highly qualified medical students who want to pursue a career in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation which is a very competitive and under served specialty in medicine.

Dr. Buchalter hopes his legacy of teaching and mentoring will lead to the next generation of compassionate, ethical, and well trained physicians into the future.
